FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I become a member?

Just click ’like’ on our Facebook page and you’ll be counted as a member, invited to all events and able to post and start discussions on the wall. Technology FTW.

Your name has ‘young’ in it. I’m not young - can I still join?

Absolutely. You’re only as old as you feel, and although this is a space for young people’s voices and leadership, we appreciate all the support and involvement we can get.

Can men, trans and non-binary folk join the WYFC?

Yes. All self-identified feminists regardless of gender or gender identity are welcome.

What sort of stuff do you do?

So far we have held a huge launch party, a fundraiser bake sale for the Christchurch Women’s Refuge, and we’re planning a movie night for Wellington Rape Crisis, guerrilla art workshops and social/discussion evenings. We aim for an event a month.

Do I have to come to everything to be considered a member?

Heck no. You’re busy! Come to what you want to join in on.

I don’t know much about feminism, is that okay?

Of course – we’re all still learning.

I have the overwhelming need to troll every comment and link on the page, should I still join?

That would be no.

I’m interested in helping out. How do I get more involved?

Email wellingtonyoungfeministscollective@gmail.comand we’ll get you feministing in no time!
